The Rollergrooves

Narinda Reeders and Tai Snaith have been working together under the collaborative psuedonym of The Rollergrooves since 2001. They have shown and created works both locally and internationally including performaces in Edinburgh, Glasgow, San Fransico, Mexico and Melbourne. Their practise is both photographic and performative and often silent, still or 'dead'. Their performative installations reference the genre of Tableaux Vivant from the 19th Century and are usually endurance-based, parasiting onto existing public gatherings, exhibitions, icons or opportunities. Their identity is always constructed from iconic red and white costumes and rollerskates and the situtations they get themselves into often reference themes of consumerism, sexuality, death and branding.
