Charlie Sublet is a photographer based at the Abbotsford Convent Arts Precinct in Melbourne. His work includes portraiture and landscape imagery with particular emphasis on one?s sense of place and belonging in the world, and the tension and interaction between the human and natural worlds. Among others, he has exhibited solo shows about The Big Issue vendors, the abandoned Mercy Hospital for Women and The Yarra River.
Charlie has received a number of significant grants, awards and residencies, most recently being accepted into the Cataract Gorge Artist-in-Residence program in Launceston, Tasmania in late 2009. His work has been acquired by several major institutions, including The State Library of Victoria.
