Jamie Boys is a Melbourne based visual artist who works in a variety of mediums such as painting, installation, photography and video.

Jamie studied at RMIT and VCA in Melbourne and also completed a 5 month exchange at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design - Vancouver BC. Jamie was selected for OFF THE WALL – ART MELBOURNE 2007 and the NEW GENERATION - ART SYDNEY in 2008.

Jamie’s work focuses on stylized design based imagery, representing isolated figures disjointed from their surrounding environment. His work explores a number of themes, ranging from ritual, to a nostalgic aesthetic of child-like innocence combined with mystical elements of Utopian values.

“I’m curious about the uncertainty that exists within emptiness. By using large areas of void I try to attain an underlying tension within the work.”
