O.T.T by Lia T

Lia Tabrah is the face behind O.T.T. by Lia .T, inspired by big shoulder pads, 1980s power silhouettes, animal prints, and crocodiles. She produces big and bold pieces that are glamorous and fun, and are not to be taken too seriously.

An unorthodox childhood, spent growing up in regional Victoria in aged care homes and on an emu farm, has influenced the ostentatious and over the top quality that characterize the designs of O.T.T by Lia .T.

As someone who has always turned heads walking down the street and unable to find accessories and jewelry that matched her style, Lia decided to make her own; training in gold and silver smithing at Melbourne’s renowned school for jewellery, NMIT.

Since creating the label in 2008, Lia’s quirky designs have quickly attracted the attention of some of Australia’s most fashion conscious retailers, designers and curators including collaboration during Rosemount Australian Fashion week with fashion label, above. Her work has also been featured in the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

In 2010, O.T.T by Lia .T launched Metal Manicure – gold and silver glue on fingernails. Lia’s one-off creations have been curated into the exhibitions Chronique Scandaleuse, Sneak and most recently The Abandoned Boudoir, a touring exhibition through Asia.

Lia’s dream collaboration would be with The Bold and the Beautiful’s Sally Spectra.

Metal Manicure collection stems from the glamorous times of the 80’s, a time of excessive adornment. I wanted to experiment with a new area of the body where jewellery can be exhibited.

Metal Manicure is both a luxurious beauty treatment and a precious item of jewellery. It dazzles with its high polished mirror finish and creates a look, rather than compliments a look. Glamour eternale….
