Kristin Lewis

Kristin Lewis is a Melbourne based Sculptor whose theatrical installations appear as a kind of metaphor for sculptural creation itself.
The dense spaces she creates explode with dispersed architectural fragments, illuminated by some mysterious hidden light source. In Lewis' constructivist tableaus, carefully painted abstract timber forms take on the presence of an undisclosed character, poised in an industrial narrative. Lewis aims to locate herself as a worker of sorts, aspiring to create a sculptural space which is not relational, but rather attempting to enact a metaphysical choreography of construction.
